NELA Career Fair

Dear Business and Community Partners:

Despite the recent economic downturn, Louisiana's businesses are finding it difficult to attract, recruit, and hire qualified, skilled employees.  Louisiana currently has a shortage of about 4,000 workers a year for jobs that require career or technical education.

On February 17th, to increase the number of qualified job applicants in our Region's talent pool, we will host the annual Northeast Louisiana Career Fair at the Monroe Civic Center.  This initiative will impact hundreds of residents within Region 8 by providing job and training opportunities, future labor market information, skills assessment, and career coaching.

Your company is being extended the opportunity to interact with a qualified pool of job applicants and to increase your business' exposure and community involvement.  Recently, the Region has seen exciting economic developments such as the V-Vehicle Company and the ConAgra Sweet Potato Processing Plant, in which a qualified labor pool will be needed to sustain these businesses.  Through efforts like these, your business' bottom line will be positively impacted by increasing the availability of the skilled workforce you need to be successful.

Register online at http://www.cblouisiana.com/register.hml to help impact the local residents of Region 8.  You can contact a member of the Recruitment and Placement Team at your local Career Solutions Center, also, to assist with your registration.
